As an Electrical Design Engineer, you’ll play a key role in the design, wiring, and integration of robotic systems. Using your practical electrical engineering skills, you’ll help deliver innovative, high-quality automation solutions that embody Labman’s mission to enable science through technology.

What You’ll Do

  • Designing the electrical control system for bespoke robotic systems, including single phase and three phase power circuits, DC power circuits, servo and stepper motors, IO devices, sensors, and safety circuits.
  • Understanding, interpreting and wiring from electrical drawings.
  • Involvement in machine safety risk assessments and determining functional safety requirements.
  • Communicating project status, issues and requirements with project leaders and senior staff.
  • Be familiar with EU and ISO standards, directives, and legislation relevant to Labman systems.
  • Participate in the full life cycle of engineering projects, including installation worldwide if necessary.

What You’ll Need

  • Minimum of HNC Level 4 in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with SEE Electrical or another electrical drawing package to produce IEC electrical drawings.
  • Able to understand and interpret component datasheets.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to manage own time effectively and manage task lists.
  • Attention to detail.

Desirable

  • Fault-finding skills including use of diagnostic equipment.
  • Experience with industrial fieldbuses.
  • Knowledge of functional safety and relevant standards, ideally ISO 13849.
