About The Role

We're looking for a capable and motivated CNC Machinist to join Labman's workshop team and support the manufacture of high-quality precision components for our bespoke automation systems. This is a hands-on engineering role where you’ll be working on a wide variety of one-off and small batch components. You’ll be involved in setting up and operating CNC machinery, working from engineering drawings, and helping to develop machining methods that support complex and innovative engineering projects. You’ll work closely with experienced machinists, designers, and engineers, contributing to both day-to-day production and longer-term improvements in workshop capability. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys practical engineering, problem-solving, and working on technically challenging, non-repetitive work.

What You'll Do

  • Manufacture precision components from engineering drawings to a high standard
  • Set up and operate CNC milling, turning, and routing machines
  • Write and edit CNC programs using ONE CNC software
  • Produce bespoke parts for complex automation and engineering systems
  • Carry out quality checks to ensure components meet required specifications
  • Use and maintain measuring and inspection equipment accurately
  • Work closely with the workshop team to improve machining methods and processes
  • Support knowledge sharing and contribute to the development of colleagues
  • Take part in continuous improvement of workshop capability and standards
  • Stay up to date with machining techniques, tooling, and manufacturing technologies
  • Work safely and independently while maintaining high attention to detail

What You'll Need

  • Experience in CNC machining (programming and/or operating)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience working to quality standards and tight tolerances
