The Role
We are looking for a field service engineer to join our busy service team, providing field service, technical support, software support and operator training to our customers. This will primarily involve travel within the UK, but European and worldwide travel will be a significant part of the role. When not travelling you will be expected to be based in our Sheffield office. The position would suit someone who is looking for a career in scientific field service work, including those looking to move from the laboratory to a FSE role. This is a great opportunity to work with a customer-focused company supporting several niche product lines.
Responsibilities
Customer site delivery of:
- Installation and operator training on instruments and software
- Preventative maintenance Qualifications (IQ/OQ/RQ)
- Diagnosis and repair of systems
- Supporting customers and distributors remotely
- Efficient management of schedule and workload
- Effective communication with customers and colleagues
- Assist as needed with product demonstrations
- Preparation/submission of service reports to customers
The above list is not exhaustive and, as such, you may be required to undertake other duties as appropriate.
Requirements
Essential:
- Industry experience working with Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)
- Full driving licence
- Willingness to travel extensively
- Highly motivated and have strong problem-solving abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- A commitment to providing a high level of customer service
- Able to work independently without supervision in high-pressure environments
- Computer experience and proficiency
Desirable:
- Relevant experience in the Pharmaceutical or Nuclear Medicine industries
- Experience of working with radioactivity
