Position Overview: As the Employment Counsel, you will provide legal advice on employment law issues across UK, EU, and AsiaPac countries, including China, India, Japan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, and Taiwan.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Providing legal advice to HR and other stakeholders on employee-related issues such as recruitment, background screening, benefits, conduct, compensation, and termination.
  • Supporting merger, acquisition, and restructuring projects, including TUPE, redundancies, and collective redundancies.
  • Reviewing and drafting employment-related documents like contracts, termination agreements, policies, and training materials.
  • Advising on employee relations matters, investigations, conduct issues, and disciplinary actions.
  • Managing potential litigation and legal risks, coordinating with external counsel as needed.
  • Providing training to HR and other teams.

Reporting Line: The position reports to the Vice President, Employment Law.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualified Solicitor/Barrister with post-qualification experience, either from a reputed law firm or in-house employment legal team.
  • Experience handling complex employment disputes and issues, providing practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication, drafting, and legal interpretation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify key legal issues.
  • Risk awareness and compliance focus.
  • Ability to manage external counsel effectively.
