The Role: Our largest UK site in Harrogate is currently recruiting for a Laboratory Technician Bioanalysis to join the team. Job responsibilities include:
- The Laboratory Technician will report to the Laboratory Supervisor and may be allocated to other supervisors as necessary for day-to-day work on specific studies.
- Provide support within the laboratory to facilitate the successful conduct of studies carried out in the Bioanalytical Services Department.
- Work closely with Experimental Officers and Technical Specialists to ensure work is conducted according to appropriate scientific and technical standards and in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Demonstrate a knowledge and commitment to health and safety procedures and practice, particularly the use of personal protection equipment and COSHH initiatives.
- Good working knowledge of routine use and maintenance of equipment appropriate to the relevant area.
- Conduct all work in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, specifically those regulations (GLP and GCP) specified in the study plans, protocols, or work agreements governing the work in which they are involved.
- Ensure that all study-based activities are performed in accordance with the study protocol and the Covance standard operating procedures (SOP).
- Liaise with Laboratory Supervisors and Management to provide laboratory support, including performing test article weighings, ordering and booking in consumables/reagents, bulk reagent preparation, metrology, and lab support.
- Provide analytical support by assisting with study work, for example sample batches, as directed.
- Be knowledgeable in the operation of the E-Workbook system with regard to asset registration and equipment verification and be able to train other staff on these processes.
Education/Experience: No experience is required as full training will be provided.
