The Role: Our site in Alconbury, near Huntingdon is currently recruiting for a Logistics/Shipping coordinator. Primarily you will liaise with appropriate groups to maintain interdepartmental communication and co-operation, assist in the Co-ordination of courier services as required and maintain close working relationship with DEFRA in preparation and submission of CITES permits and Export Health Certificate applications for both HRC and ERC.
Job responsibilities include:
- Organise and coordinate all biological substances shipments to or from our sites, including radioactive biological substances and occasionally dangerous goods shipments.
- Responsible for preparation and submission of applications for all import and export licenses for Non-EU countries with UK Animal Health Authorities and where necessary US FDA and F&W Import Authorities.
- Ensure close cooperation with operational members of courier companies.
- Ensure appropriate procedures are followed so quality, scientific integrity and regulatory compliance is maintained.
- Comply with UK and international GLP, GMP and GCP regulations.
- Comply with all safety directives, department safety procedures and ensure safe working practices.
- Report any difficulty, uncertainty or unexpected finding to the Shipping Supervisor.
- The Logistics/shipping coordinator will fulfil any other duties within their competence and experience, which may be required by the Company.
