Labcorp is seeking a Laboratory Scientist to join our Environmental Sciences team at Alconbury, near Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday – 37.5hrs

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performing a variety of laboratory assays following standard procedures and study protocols
  • Critical review of processes and study plans, suggesting changes where appropriate
  • Reviewing own work for overall accuracy, timeliness, completeness, and soundness of technical judgment
  • Maintaining study documentation alongside client and regulatory expectations
  • Use of LIMS software
  • Contributing to wider method development and validations projects
  • Maintaining a safe and organized laboratory environment at all times

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree in Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biomedical Science, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Environmental Sciences

Additional Job Standards:

  • Experience in a fast paced regulated laboratory setting, understand Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and study protocols
  • Worked to regulatory standards such as GLP (Good Laboratory Practice)
  • Be able to motivate and influence others to ensure timely delivery of high quality results, and use own experiences to help in training of junior team members
  • Experience in troubleshooting problems and informing appropriate channels for the reporting of issues
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment and comfortable working under minimal supervision
  • Be highly motivated to produce high quality work against regulatory expectations

We are looking for a Laboratory Scientist to focus on Biodegradation, Animal Metabolism and Dermal Penetration studies while also supporting a range of other study types involved in Environmental fate and plant metabolism. This will give you great exposure in working with different product lines and provide you with a wider skill set and experience.
