Labcorp is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to join our Necropsy team at Harrogate, North Yorkshire.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday – 37hrs
Job Responsibilities:
- Stock control, reagent preparation and ordering of consumables, labelling of pots and slides
- Preparation/ archiving of a range of animal samples in accordance with study paperwork and SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures)
- General housekeeping and cleaning procedures to ensure the continued daily operation of the laboratory
- May assist in routine laboratory procedures, including animal postmortems and foetal sectioning
- Working within the confines of a GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) environment
Minimum Qualifications:
- GCSEs of grades C/4 or above in Maths, English and Science
Additional Job Standards:
- All tasks will be performed with minimal supervision on satisfactory completion of training
- All training will be provided, and this is a great first step for anyone looking to get into the industry.
- You will be joining a team who are supportive, collaborative and really work together to ensure the companies goals are met
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to accurately read, record, and communicate information
- Some manual lifting is required
- Some weekend work may be required
- Competent with Excel and Word applications
