Labcorp is seeking a Departmental Support Specialist to join our team at Alconbury, near Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday – 37.5hrs

Job Responsibilities:

  • Co‐ordination of COSHH/ OEB / Hazard classification documentation for the handling of Test Items, Chemicals and gases and co‐ordination and generation of departmental Health and safety Risk assessments.
  • Represents Genetic toxicology as departmental Fire and Safety Coordinator.
  • Supports Management with the Coordination of calibration and maintenance of Genetic Toxicology equipment – to include associated IT Systems and supports the Business Analysts with performing Vendor Qualification for new equipment including the associated documentation required for the System Life Cycle (SLC) processes such as equipment risk assessments.
  • Responsible for co‐ordination of Capital Expenditure Proposal (CEP) preparation and submission.
  • Supports Compliance Manager with the coordination of Controlled Document updates/generation related to the equipment used within the department/globally and the coordination of 'On Call' team function.
  • Aware and trained in quality management and change management methods and management of departmental quality events related to equipment and Rees.
  • Acts as the Departmental Archivist for handling of non‐study related data and performs electronic archiving as required.
  • Responsible for the issue and reconciliation of departmental controlled forms as required and study sample shipping and logistics as required.
  • Maintenance/updating of relevant departmental spreadsheets and supports stock check, ordering of stock and external items.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A levels in Science, Biology, Maths and English.

Additional Job Standards:

  • Scientific interest and GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) knowledge.
  • Document production and coordination with an interest in the scientific industry.
  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication, time management and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Attention to detail and consistent accuracy whilst managing multiple changing priorities.

This is an office based role. Due to the remote location of this site, there are no public transport links available.

The Departmental Support Specialist is responsible for coordinating the administrative activities within Genetic Toxicology.
