We are seeking a motivated and ambitious individual who prides themselves on delivering a competitive, efficient and professional building control service to all our clients. You’ll have the opportunity to work on projects throughout the STG area as well as enhancing your management knowledge and skills. We operate a hybrid working model where your working time will be divided between the office/site (2-3 days) and home working (2-3 days).
STG Building Control Partnership was the first Local Authority Building Control Partnership in the SouthEast between Gravesham Borough Council, Medway Council and Swale Borough Council, expanding to include Canterbury City Council in 2018. We provide a flexible and modern building control service on behalf of our partner authorities.
Responsibilities- As a Managing Surveyor, you’ll be at the forefront of ensuring buildings in Kent meet the highest regulatory standards in safety, sustainability, accessibility, and design.
- Overseeing a team of surveyors to effectively and efficiently deliver the service.
- Conducting site inspections and plan assessments to check compliance with regulations.
- Supporting enforcement actions to ensure the council meets its obligations under the Building Act and related legislation.
- Maintaining a strong performance culture with a focus on service excellence and customer satisfaction.
- Technical Expertise: A solid understanding of Building Regulations and associated legislation.
- Proactive Approach: The ability to prioritise and manage a busy workload with ease.
- Collaborative Mindset: A team player who thrives in a professional and supportive environment.
- Drive for Excellence: A passion for delivering outstanding service to clients, while maintaining the highest standards.
- Educated to degree level in a relevant subject such as Building Control, Building Surveying, Construction, Structural Engineering and/or be able to demonstrate learning at an equivalent level.
- Registered with the Building Safety Regulator at Class 2F: Building Inspector as determined by the HSE Building Inspector Competency Framework (BICoF).
Working Location: anywhere within the STG area (Gravesham, Medway, Swale & Canterbury)
Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent - 37.00 hours per week
