This is an excellent opportunity to take on a senior role within a forward-thinking Building Control team in a busy and metropolitan environment. Our building control team manage a range of interesting projects and in this role, you will enjoy the support of a multi-disciplined professional team but be given the autonomy and responsibility to work independently dealing with a range of domestic residential and commercial type building control applications, site inspections and technical queries. We provide a professional service on all aspects of the building regulations including plan appraisal and site inspections. The successful candidate will be involved in carrying out a variety of inspections including dangerous structures and resolve the issues that may arise. You will be a valued member of the team, who will contribute to the development of the service in relation to commerciality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on complex domestic and residential site inspections.
  • Provide technical guidance and compliance oversight for construction projects.
  • Assess and appraise all elements of domestic and residential construction without supervision.
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting for caseload management.
  • Identify and resolve compliance risks, conflicts of interest, and regulatory issues.
  • Act as a mentor and support the development of team members.

Essential qualifications/skills

  • Registered Building Control Inspector Class 2a-d registration with the BSR.
  • A degree-level qualification in a relevant field.
  • Relevant experience in Building Control or a related discipline.
  • Strong decision-making and negotiation skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Desirable qualifications/skills

  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or higher).
