Salary Grade G scp 23 £34,434 to Grade H scp 31 £41,771, salary dependant on qualifications and experience. Plus essential car user allowance up to £963pa - pay award pending.
The successful candidate will bring strong technical knowledge and sound professional judgement, providing appropriate advice based on up-to-date technical knowledge and advanced theoretical, practical and procedural knowledge. You must have a practical and proportionate approach to enforcement and compliance, with a commitment to high standards of customer service.
You’ll have the ability to work collaboratively within a shared service and political local authority environment whilst maintaining a positive, flexible and adaptable approach to change. Good written, verbal, presentational and inter-personal skills enabling effective communication with staff, management, chief officers, directors, elected members and the general public will be key.
ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking professional and customer‐focused Registered Building Inspectors Class 1, Class 2A, & Class 2A-D who will contribute positively to the delivery and reputation of the Bolton Borough building control service. The Registered Building Inspectors play a key professional role within the Building Control Service, ensuring the health, safety and welfare of people in and around buildings. This is achieved through the effective implementation and enforcement of the Building Regulations, the Building Act 1984 and associated legislation, while delivering a high‐quality, customer‐focused statutory service.
Essential qualifications/skills- Grade G- Knowledge of the Building Safety Regime under the Building Safety Act 2022.
- Grade H- Demonstrate at least 2 year’s experience working in a building control environment, including experience of more complex development proposals.
- Knowledge of British Standards and Codes of Practice regarding Structural Engineering.
