About Lab54
Lab54 is a content-led events and production company driven by the motto: [ Anywhere But A Club. ] We specialise in creating high-impact experiences in unexpected locations, capturing moments and turning them into viral content. With a combined global audience of over 425,000 across platforms, Lab54 sits at the intersection of party culture and lifestyle, bridging the gap between real-life and online. We collaborate closely with brands, record labels, and artists to craft culturally relevant moments to our community and beyond.
Role Overview
The Short-Form Content Creator is a fast-paced, hands-on role at the heart of Lab54's output. You'll film, edit and publish short-form content daily — capturing the energy of our events and turning it into scroll-stopping clips for TikTok, Instagram and beyond. This is a maker's role: you live and breathe short-form, you know instinctively what makes a video land, and you can turn raw footage into something people can't scroll past — fast, and at volume.
Responsibilities
- Film, edit and publish engaging short-form content daily across TikTok and Instagram
- Produce a high volume of content at pace — typically several pieces a day, ramping up around live events and peak moments
- Turn raw event footage (iPhone, GoPro, photos and more) into high-energy, on-brand clips with fast turnaround
Trends & Platform
- Identify and move quickly on trends, viral sounds and platform updates
- Keep Lab54 at the front of culture, not chasing it
- Monitor performance and use what's working to shape what you make next
Collaboration & Brand
- Work with the wider content team to execute campaigns and content ideas
- Keep content on-brand, and follow the right approval process for branded client work
- Engage with the community — comments, replies and interaction
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Proven ability to film and edit short-form content end-to-end, yourself
- Strong instinct for what performs on TikTok and Instagram
- Comfortable working at pace and at volume without losing quality
- Proficiency in short-form editing tools (CapCut, Premiere Pro or similar)
- A genuine feel for music and digital culture
Demonstrable Attributes
- Self-starter who can shoot, cut and ship without hand-holding
- Comfortable in a fast-moving, resource-limited environment
- Adaptable, proactive, and quick to react to the moment
- A portfolio of self-shot, self-edited content that speaks for itself
KPIs / Success Measures
- Consistency and volume of high-quality output
- Engagement and reach on the content you make
- Ability to deliver standout moments (viral hits)
- Speed from capture to published content
What Makes This Role Different (vs Larger Companies)
- In the trenches daily — you're making content, not managing others who do
- Fast decision making — spot a trend at 2pm, have it live by 4pm
- Real ownership — your work is the face of the brand online
- Resource constraints — success comes from instinct and hustle, not big budgets or crews
Ideal Profile
- Lives and breathes short-form content and platform culture
- Can turn messy real-world footage into high-energy edits, fast
- Thrives in a startup-style, high-tempo environment
- Understands both what's culturally relevant and what actually performs
- Can work independently and own their output end-to-end
