Purpose of the role: Providing skilled technical support to the project team.
Reporting to: Project Architect and Partners.
Overview of the role: Typically working as part of a project team under the direction of the Project Architect, taking a leading role in the production of BIM models and generating technical details. Responsibility for the production of office standard details.
Operational duties and responsibilities (across all RIBA Workstages):
- Drawing and sketching architectural and interior design solutions by hand.
- Responsibility for BIM Manager's role on projects and production of BIM Execution Plans.
- Independently producing complex and detailed architectural drawings from the ARCHICAD model.
- Producing schedules from the ARCHICAD model.
- Document control of incoming third party material.
- Document control of design information for external issue.
- Independently developing complex 2D technical construction details and defining office standards.
- Independently researching appropriate products, materials etc.
- Reviewing design information prepared by junior team members, providing feedback and support.
- Drafting NBS specifications, researching products and construction methods as necessary.
- Participating in, and contributing to, team meetings and design workshops.
- Participating in, and contributing to, internal CPD presentations.
- Operating standard internal project management and administrative systems.
- Providing general assistance in the office.
- Complying with Health & Safety, Employment and Environmental Policies.
