The Governors of La Sainte Union Catholic School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, talented, and committed Teacher of Physical Education to join our successful and supportive department. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate practitioner to contribute to a strong PE curriculum and extensive extra-curricular programme.

Leadership Options

  • Head of Year (TLR2c) - full-time role combining pastoral leadership with teaching PE
  • Subject Lead for Physical Education (TLR2a) - part-time or full-time leadership of the PE curriculum

Responsibilities

  • Set high expectations that inspire, motivate and challenge all students
  • Be accountable for students' progress, attainment and outcomes
  • Demonstrate strong subject and curriculum knowledge in Physical Education
  • Plan and deliver well-structured, engaging lessons that promote a love of learning
  • Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of all students, including those with SEN and EAL
  • Make effective use of assessment to support progress and provide high-quality feedback
  • Manage behaviour effectively to create a safe, positive and productive learning environment
  • Contribute positively to the wider life and ethos of the school, including enrichment and extra-curricular activities
  • Develop strong professional relationships with colleagues, students and parents
  • Uphold the school's Catholic ethos and support the formation of young people

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Head of Year (TLR2c): Leading the academic progress, wellbeing and personal development of a year group, working closely with families and staff
  • Subject Lead for PE (TLR2a): Leading the development of the PE curriculum, driving standards of teaching and learning, and promoting participation and achievement across the subject
