We are seeking to appoint a friendly, efficient, and enthusiastic Part-Time Catering Assistant to join our dedicated in-house catering team ASAP. This is a term-time-only role, working 3 hours per day from 11am to 2pm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the catering team with basic food preparation, such as washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients
- Assisting with the plating and serving of hot and cold meals to students and staff
- Ensuring the cleanliness of the floor and tables in the dining areas before, during and after service
- Help with washing up and cleaning in the kitchen
- Following Food Hygiene and Health & Safety procedures to maintain high standards
- Helping with other duties as required, including special event support
- Occasionally helping to cater for special catering events outside the regular working hours
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- A positive, friendly and approachable manner, with the ability to interact well with students, staff, and visitors
- Knowledge of basic food hygiene practices (Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate desirable)
- Previous experience in a school or commercial kitchen is desirable but not essential
- A flexible, team-orientated attitude and willingness to help with a variety of kitchen tasks
