6 Month contract initially + Extensions

Based: Hybrid - 1 day p/w Onsite in Windsor

Rate: £400 - £500 p/d (via Umbrella company)

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Lead to drive the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of DevOps practices across cloud and application platforms. The role involves leading DevOps initiatives, enabling development teams, and ensuring secure, scalable, and reliable deployment pipelines. Experience supporting Salesforce platform deployments and integrations is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the DevOps strategy, implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple applications and platforms.
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available AWS cloud infrastructure environments.
  • Own and optimise CI/CD pipelines to enable efficient, reliable, and automated application deployments.
  • Collaborate with Development, QA, Architecture, Infrastructure, Security, and Salesforce teams to ensure seamless delivery and operational excellence.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.
  • Establish monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions to proactively detect incidents.
  • Drive environment management, release automation, configuration management, and deployment standardisation across teams.
  • Ensure cloud security, compliance, vulnerability management, and adherence to governance policies.
  • Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for production issues, performance bottlenecks, and deployment failures.
  • Mentor and guide DevOps engineers while promoting DevOps culture, best practices, automation, and improvement.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services – networking, compute, storage, security, IAM, monitoring.
  • Proven expertise in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or similar.
  • Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Ansible.
  • Strong knowledge of containerisation and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and EKS.
  • Excellent understanding of DevOps, SRE, Agile methodologies, automation frameworks, system reliability, and operational best practices.

Desirable Skills / Knowledge / Experience

  • Experience with Salesforce DevOps – deployment automation using Copado, Gearset, AutoRABIT, or Salesforce DX.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce platform architecture, integrations, release management, and environment strategy.
  • Experience with observability & monitoring tools such as Datadog, Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana, CloudWatch, AppDynamics.
  • Exposure to multi-cloud environments – Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Relevant certifications – AWS Solutions Architect/DevOps Engineer Professional, Salesforce Administrator, Salesforce Platform App Builder, Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD), Terraform Associate.
