Role: Network Architect
Rate: Inside IR35
Location: remote with occasional travel to London
Duration: 12 months
Clearance: SC cleared candidates with a HO SC, or a transferrable SC; the project will also consider SC eligible candidates.
A network engineer to configure and support reliable, compliant, and supportable networks in Data Centres and Operation centres, that developers, test teams and customers can use. This role is a hybrid work role with onsite work required occasionally. The role will require UK-based travel.
The day-to-day:
- Work with a small team of Architects and engineers
- Distil High Level Architecture/Designs into Low Level design documents
- Create device configurations
- Push solutions through approval boards, TDA, Change, Security
- Implement configurations on devices
- Perform full testing plans IVT, OAT, UAT
- Provide network support for any reported issues or problems
Technologies will include: Cisco Nexus, F5, Palo Alto, NetScout, Ansible. Adhere to business processes, standards and security compliance. Work with other Engineers, Architects, and report to the lead Architect.
Examples of day-to-day tasks include:
- Configure network hardware
- Configure Firewall policies
- Configure Load Balancing Profiles
- Create and maintain Low Level diagrams, documentation and guides related to network infrastructure and any related operational processes
- Provide technical support to other teams, troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with the environment and our solutions. Effectively communicate issues to management and higher-level technical support
- Ensure that reporting is accurate and provided in a timely manner
What you’ll need:
- Analytical Problem solving skills for triaging of system alerts for mid-level issues
- Ability to work with other team members to resolve issues and suggest and develop practical, rapid solutions for day-to-day issues
- Experience with typical application landscape within an enterprise data centre environment
- Experience with implementing and maintaining virtualized network environments
- Strong experience with Cisco, F5, Palo Alto system administration including security and patch management
- Solid understanding of networking principles including networking protocols, basic routing, ports, and firewalls
- Ansible for configuration management and for automating, repetitive, high volume operational workloads
- Can work Independently on assigned tasks
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in heterogeneous environments for engineers and customers
- Exceptional organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work across multi-functional teams and with geographically distributed teams
- Good written and oral communication skills

- One or more related technical certifications in Network+, Cisco or Juniper network accreditations typically up to CCNP level
- Low to moderate Ansible skills
