Our client is currently looking for an experienced VMware Architect with a strong background in VMware Horizon and VDI Architectures. This role is remote with very occasional travel to The Hague, the Netherlands. Please note that due to the nature of the role, candidates need to hold at least one of the required clearances: SC, DV, NATO Secret or NATO CTS.

Required skills and experience:

  • VMware Horizon / VDI Architectures
  • Horizon Connection Server, Unified Access Gateway, Desktop Pools, Instant Clones / Linked Clones, Golden Images and Image Lifecycle Management
  • FSLogix Profile Containers, Office Containers, Cloud Cache and troubleshooting of profile issues
  • VMware Dynamic Environment Manager / DEM
  • Profile management, roaming profiles and application masking
  • VMware App Volumes / Application Packaging and application deployment in VDI environments
  • Windows Work Folders, Windows Distributed File System / DFS and user-related data storage concepts
  • vSphere / VCF9-relevant fundamentals for VDI operations, including compute, storage and network dependencies
  • Windows client and server operating systems in a VDI context
  • GPOs, login scripts, user environment settings and policy-based configurations
  • Login VSI, ControlUp or comparable end-user monitoring and performance analysis tools
  • Analysis of login times, profile loading processes, session stability, application startup and resource utilization
