Storage Engineer
Location: Remote with ad-hoc travel
Duration: 6 months initially
IR35 Status : Inside

This senior-level role sits within a Storage team responsible for the provision of Managed Service & Project activities.

The team provides support to the Storage devices on the Live, Development & Test environments as well as performing all Change & Project work.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting multiple Storage technologies including Fujitsu, HP, Dell, Net App & Brocade.

In addition there will be a considerable amount of migration / transformation Project work, some of which may be out of hours.

  • At least 5-10 years' experience of implementing, migrating to/from & supporting (2nd to 3rd Line) storage devices.
  • Good knowledge of file & block storage technologies
  • Good knowledge of Dell EMC storage devices & Unisphere
  • Good knowledge of Brocade SAN Switches & San Nav
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal communication.
  • Have a proven problem solving ability.
  • Proactive approach to personal workload management.
  • Awareness of the ITIL Service Management framework and specifically incident and change management
  • Use and support of Veritas Net Backup
  • Good knowledge of Net App & Hewlett Packard storage devices
  • General knowledge of HBA configuration, Multipathing & general use of various server operating systems - Windows, Linux (RHEL & SLES), AIX and Solaris
