We have a great opportunity for a Data Quality/Governance Lead to join the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the intermediary between Data Owners, Stewards and consumers, and the Data Directorate, enabling confident use of data through effective Data Management and Quality Frameworks and Standards.
  • Apply technical, data management knowledge to lead on defining and applying processes, governance and standards to effectively and responsibly manage data.
  • Build strong relationships with data stakeholders across the business to prioritize data by criticality, document descriptive metadata, define data dictionary and business glossary term definitions, document data lineage flows and transformations, data quality rules and govern the data catalogue - striving towards a Single Version of Truth
  • Define and maintain standards and process documentation, communicating changes as required
  • Technical ownership and responsibility for business glossary terms, data dictionary definitions, and data quality rules.
  • Chairing cross-functional working groups to agree and sign-off definitions
  • In partnership with Technical Solution Teams, document and assure data lineage mappings, ensuring they conform to standards and are updated whenever data change occurs, making challenges when necessary
  • Contribute to and deliver against the data lineage and metadata roadmap - a plan to identify, prioritize and remedy legacy data lineage gaps and data dictionary, business glossary, and descriptive metadata gaps
  • Conduct review and assurance processes for maintaining data catalogue artefacts
  • Provide analysis, regular & ad-hoc reporting and status updates on data management activities
  • Support supplier relationship management activities for the Data Catalogue and MDM tools, support the deployment and testing of software patches, version upgrades, connectors etc.
  • Promote usefulness and purpose of the data catalogue, engage with business units to better understand, and plan for, ways in which an enterprise data catalogue can help them.
  • Create targeted roll out plans to train and upskill the business in data catalogue usage
  • Support and optimise MDM processes and parameters to drive improved quality into our mastered datasets
  • Ensure critical data quality priorities are aligned, DQ rules and metrics are fit for purpose and clearly defined, incompatibilities between enterprise business rules and DQ rules are identified and mitigated
  • Drive remediation for critical DQ issues and coordinate process improvements to maintain effective data health
  • Perform ad-hoc investigative work to uncover data issues or highlight and escape process issues.
  • Support the Data Ownership Model and Data Stewards, to ensure clearly defined roles and responsibilities are allocated, understood and executed and continually build business knowledge in associated domains.
