Detailed Job Description

As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, administration, maintenance, and support of enterprise Microsoft infrastructure within highly secure virtualized environments. You will work on the deployment and management of core Microsoft technologies, ensuring the reliability, availability, and security of critical IT services. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting server infrastructure, virtualization platforms, identity services, messaging platforms, patch management systems, and enterprise productivity solutions. This position offers the opportunity to work within a complex and sensitive technical environment on a long-term programme with significant operational importance.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain Microsoft Windows Server environments.
• Support virtualized infrastructure built on Microsoft Hyper‑V platforms.
• Manage Active Directory services, including users, groups, policies, and authentication services.
• Configure and support Group Policy Objects (GPOs) across enterprise environments.
• Administer Microsoft SQL Server platforms and related services.
• Support Microsoft Exchange messaging infrastructure.
• Manage Microsoft Skype for Business environments where applicable.
• Administer Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) and patch management activities.
• Support Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) services and certificate management.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain Microsoft Office and enterprise productivity solutions.
• Monitor system performance and proactively address infrastructure issues.
• Troubleshoot complex server, virtualization, and application-related incidents.
• Maintain infrastructure documentation, configurations, and operational records.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and operational procedures.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Active SC or DV Security Clearance (Mandatory).
• Strong experience administering Microsoft Windows Server environments.
• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Hyper‑V virtualization technologies.
• Experience managing Active Directory and Group Policy.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server administration.
• Experience supporting Microsoft Exchange environments.
• Experience administering WSUS and enterprise patch management solutions.
• Knowledge of PKI, certificates, and secure enterprise infrastructure.
• Experience deploying and supporting Microsoft Office solutions.
• Strong troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis capabilities.
• Experience supporting secure, enterprise‑scale infrastructure environments.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within highly regulated and security‑conscious environments.
