The Fortinet SD WAN solution design lead will be responsible for creating and maintaining high-level and low-level design documents, ensuring alignment with the customer architecture principles, security requirements and operational processes. The role requires on-site presence in Farnborough, 4 days per week, for the duration of the engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design of the Fortinet SD WAN solution
  • Produce and maintain HLD/LLD documentation, ensuring alignment with customer architecture principles, security requirements and operational processes
  • Ensure designs meet assurance, compliance and operational readiness standards
  • Support planning, testing and phased rollout of SD WAN
  • Communicate progress, risks and design decisions to internal and external stakeholders
  • Deliver a fully validated and accepted Fortinet SD WAN architecture, achieving customer sign-off against agreed requirements
  • Demonstrate clear alignment with operational teams, ensuring they understand how the design supports business and service processes

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Fortinet technologies, including FortiGate NGFW & SD WAN, IPSec/ADVPN, routing protocols (BGP/OSPF), ZTNA, segmentation, security profiles
  • Hands-on experience producing HLDs/LLDs and technical governance packs
  • Enterprise network architecture and secure configuration principles
  • Monitoring, logging, and SIEM integration
  • Experience with system, network and security testing (desirable)
  • UK National eligibility SC clearance
  • Candidate must be willing to obtain security clearance prior to appointment (minimum 10 weeks required)
