The role involves configuring SRX series routers to meet project deadlines and supporting BAU operations to enable the delivery of secure global network services. Are you an experienced 3rd line network engineer looking to join a team of highly skilled engineers based in Birmingham? Your role will include managing and supporting the Customer Network WAN estate.

Daily duties will involve a mix of project/implementation work and general technical network support escalations. You will collaborate with the network design team, share knowledge, and upskill within the 3rd line team.

The ideal candidate will be skilled in configuring, troubleshooting, and tuning Juniper network devices, serving as a technical lead and escalation point for network faults.

Mandatory Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of configuring and tuning the following:
  • Juniper SRX platform
  • BGP
  • IPSEC
  • MPLS
  • PKI
Specific requirements include:
  • Extensive experience with Junos OS and various SRX and MX platforms, including CLI proficiency.
  • Strong routing and switching knowledge.
  • Expertise in BGP configuration, including policy-based routing, attribute manipulation, load balancing, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience troubleshooting IPSEC VPNs and MPLS.
  • Knowledge of PKI infrastructure and certificate-based VPN authentication.
