Site Reliability Engineer
12 Month contract initially + Extensions
Based: Hybrid - Max of 2 days p/w onsite in Manchester or London (whichever is most convenient)
Rate: £400 - £500 p/d - (via Umbrella company)

Key Responsibilities
* Define and manage service-level indicators and service-level objectives, with meaningful alerts and dashboards.
* Participate in incident response, root-cause analysis and the delivery of permanent corrective actions.
* Build automation to reduce manual operational effort and improve service reliability.
* Implement monitoring, logging, metrics and telemetry to provide clear service visibility.
* Automate operational run books, recovery procedures and routine support activities.
* Improve system availability, scalability, resilience, security and performance.
* Collaborate with application, cloud, platform, security and operations teams to improve production readiness.
* Support continuous delivery by promoting reliable deployment, rollback and release practices.
* Share technical knowledge and guide engineering teams in adopting consistent reliability practice
Key Skills/knowledge/experience:
* Technical expertise in coding using Python, Java or Bash
* Cloud computing (GCP),
* Linux/Unix systems,
* Networking protocols
* Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:
* Demonstrated success in establishing collaborative relationships with engineering, operations, security, architecture and business stakeholders.
* Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
* Strong communication, ownership and team-working skills.
* Learning Attitude
