Key Responsibilities
* Administer, maintain, and support Oracle Solaris 10 and Solaris 11 environments.
* Manage and support Solaris Zones (Global and Non-Global Zones) including provisioning, migration, and troubleshooting.
* Perform installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and security hardening of Solaris Servers.
* Monitor system performance, capacity, availability, and resolve OS-level incidents and problems.
* Manage filesystems, storage, user administration, backups, and system recovery activities.
* Support Legacy applications running on Solaris platforms and coordinate with application teams during deployments.
* Create and maintain operational documentation, SOPs, and technical runbooks.
* Participate in on-call support and major incident resolution when required.
Key Skills/knowledge/experience:
* Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Solaris 10 & 11.
* Expertise in Solaris Zones, ZFS, SMF, and Solaris networking and boot prompts
* Good knowledge of OS troubleshooting, performance tuning, patch management, and system security.
* Experience supporting enterprise production environments.
* Knowledge of Shell Scripting (KSH/Bash) will be advantageous.
* Familiarity with ITIL processes including Incident, Change, and Problem Management.
Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:
* Experience supporting Legacy infrastructure environments.
* Exposure to storage technologies, backup solutions, and virtualization platforms.
