Inside IR35

Create, define, and own the visual design system for your assigned brand - establishing the rules, components, and principles that govern how the brand looks and behaves across every channel and format.

  • Develop the foundational brand elements: colour, typography, imagery style, iconography, layout principles, motion language, and design patterns - with a clear rationale for every decision.
  • Build and maintain a living design system and component library that enables Graphic Designers, Digital Designers, and Artworkers to produce consistent, on-brand work independently - documented clearly in Frontify or equivalent.
  • Evolve the design system over time in response to brand strategy, campaign feedback, new channels, and the changing visual landscape - knowing when to update, extend, or simplify.
  • Establish clear guidance on what the system permits and what it does not - creating parameters that protect brand integrity while giving designers enough creative latitude to produce great work.

Essential experience:

  • 5-8 years in brand design, visual identity, or creative design roles within agencies, studios, or in-house teams.
  • Portfolio demonstrating original brand identity creation - from strategy through to design system - not just execution within an existing system.
  • Proven ability to build and document design systems: colour, typography, component libraries, usage guidelines, and pattern documentation.
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma; experience maintaining brand assets in Frontify or equivalent DAM/brand management platform.
  • Experience working on major consumer brands - ideally in telecommunications, technology, or other high-profile B2C categories.
  • Confident articulating design rationale and brand thinking to senior non-design stakeholders.

Highly desirable:

  • Experience evolving or refreshing an established brand identity - not just maintaining it.
  • Previous in-house agency or brand-side experience.
  • Understanding of motion design principles and how brand identity extends into animation and video.
  • Experience working across digital and physical brand environments (retail, experiential, OOH).
  • Familiarity with brand strategy principles - positioning, purpose, values, and audience definition.
  • Award-winning or industry-recognised brand identity or design system work.
