Our Client are looking for an SC cleared Lead Developers/DevOps Engineer to build a platform team to support the application and database teams. There will be some travel required in the first few months of the contract, but that will be expensed. You will have demonstrable experience providing support to most of the technologies listed below as well as supporting more junior team members:

    Responsibilities include:

    • Develop and maintain the existing infrastructure including problem resolution and L3 support.
    • Complete changes within a Legacy environment, while taking ownership of the domain to become a subject matter expert for the service.
    • Update service documentation where necessary.
    • Undertake peer reviews.
    • Maintain documentation.
    • Mentor and support team members.
    • Write or maintain guidance which is used by teams working with your systems/platforms.
    • Advise on and implement CI/CD pipelines.

    Engineering Roles:

    • Mentor team members.
    • Stakeholder Management, working with the Leadership and Program management team.
    • Ensure that the team is performing efficiently and maintaining code quality and system reliability.
    • You will be the central point of contact for engineers in your area, ensuring the systems produced are sustainable and meet Digital, Data and Technology strategy.
    • Support implementation against strategy; lead multiple engineering teams in line with our architecture and professions.
    • Plan our workforce and support recruitment mentoring as necessary.
    • Ensure the engineering activities undertaken in teams under your supervision are following suitable standards.
    • Support technical decision making, feeding into roadmaps and overall strategy for the Engineering function in your area.
    • Present decisions up and down the organisation clearly.
    • Coordinate with other engineering leads to form an overall community, acting as the central point of contact in your area and leading collaborative efforts.
    • Ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
    • Advise on software development methods and tools.
