*SC CLEARED* Interaction designer 6 month contract initially Remote (Occasional travel to London, max 1 day per month) £Market rates p/d via Umbrella.

Key Skills & Experiences

An interaction designer is an experienced designer who contributes to delivery of the client service.

Responsibilities
  • Be a hands‑on member of the interaction design profession that collaborates to deliver design solutions.
  • Work embedded within an agile sprint team to deliver design thought leadership and design solutions for your respective features.
  • Work in a very open, collaborative and supportive environment across professions.
  • Understand and address design goals, usability and accessibility requirements using an iterative design process.
  • Produce screens and clickable prototypes to test design concepts which take into account established design patterns and technical and non‑technical constraints.
  • Make important decisions based on research and understand how this research impacts the service.
  • Finalise screens and screen flow for delivery which aligns with acceptance criteria.
  • Be a design advocate and communicate well throughout the design cycle from concepts to delivery to ensure high standard of work.
  • Document learnings and contribute back to shaping consistent design delivery.
Past Experience

Delivery of past services utilising GDS Service Standard Service Manual – GOV.UK. Delivery using GOV.UK Design System and prototype – Home – GOV.UK Design System (design‑system.servicegov.uk).

Tools Used
  • Sketch to create high fidelity wireframes.
  • Visio to stitch together screen flow.
  • GDS prototype kit to craft clickable prototypes.
