Description:
- Lead the Future Stores & Fulfilment Operating Model review and define requirements, principles, options and recommendations.
- Baseline warehousing, fulfilment, staging, configuration, returns and refurbishment activity, including volumes, cost, service and risk.
- Identify customer, programme, security and resilience requirements.
- Assess internal, partner and hybrid options using operational, financial, customer, risk and implementation criteria.
- Translate the preferred model into clear Unity and technology requirements.
- Develop the decision, procurement, mobilisation, transition and implementation roadmap.
- Coordinate Property, Digital, Security, Procurement, Finance, Operations, Group and partner input.
- Identify near-term improvements that can proceed without limiting future options.

- Define the evidence and criteria required for the operating model decision.
- Recommend the preferred Stores & Fulfilment option through governance.
- Set future requirements for warehousing, fulfilment, staging, configuration, returns and refurbishment.
- Decide which near-term improvements can proceed without constraining future options.
What success looks like
- A fact-based Future Stores & Fulfilment Operating Model is agreed with a clear business case.
- Customer, security, resilience, estate and operational requirements are reflected.
- Unity and technology requirements align to the agreed model, reducing avoidable rework or investment.
- A clear mobilisation and transition roadmap protects service continuity.
Skills/experience
Essential
- Significant warehousing, fulfilment, logistics strategy or operating model experience.
- Strong current-state assessment, option design and business case capability.
- Understanding of warehouse operations, staging, returns and partner models.
- Ability to turn complex operational, estate and technology requirements into decisions and a roadmap.
- Commercial, financial, programme and risk management skills.
Desirable
- Experience of warehouse systems or major technology dependencies.
- Experience evaluating outsourced or hybrid models and multi-site transitions.
