Key Responsibilities
- Design and build cloud-native platform functionality within the Azure/Databricks data ecosystem
- Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and platform services
- Optimise data pipelines for performance, resilience, and cost efficiency
- Automate data platform operations and routine processes
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows
- Ensure security, data integrity, and compliance standards are met
- Produce clear technical documentation to support knowledge transfer
Required Skills & Experience
- Core Technical Skills
- Proven commercial experience delivering solutions on Azure (AWS also acceptable with strong Azure exposure)
- Strong Python development skills (data processing, automation, platform tooling)
- Hands-on experience with Databricks (or equivalent distributed data processing platforms)
- Experience building and optimising data pipelines and ETL processes
- Practical knowledge of Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Solid understanding of DevOps and CI/CD practices
- Experience with functional and non-functional testing
- Engineering Practices
- Experience working in Agile delivery teams
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, production-ready code
- Strong problem-solving skills and a delivery mindset
- Comfortable working in established enterprise platforms and standards
