3rd Line WAN Network Support & Project Engineer. The role involves configuring SRX series routers to meet tight project deadlines and supporting BAU operations to enable the delivery of secure network services globally.
Are you an experienced 3rd line network engineer looking to join a team of highly skilled engineers based in Birmingham to manage and support the Customer Network WAN estate?
Daily duties include a mixture of project/implementation work and general technical network support escalations.
You will work collaboratively with the network design community, sharing knowledge and upskilling within the 3rd line team.
The ideal candidate is a skilled 3rd line engineer capable of configuring, troubleshooting, and tuning Juniper network devices, serving as a technical lead and point of escalation for network-related faults.
Mandatory skills:
- In-depth knowledge of configuring and tuning the following:
- Juniper SRX platform
- BGP
- IPSEC
- MPLS
- PKI
Successful candidates will have extensive experience with Junos, various SRX and MX platforms, and comprehensive CLI exposure. They will also have in-depth knowledge of routing and switching.
Experience with configuring and troubleshooting BGP, including policy-based routing, attribute manipulation, load balancing, and troubleshooting skills, is essential.
Familiarity with troubleshooting IPSEC VPNs and MPLS is required.
Knowledge of PKI infrastructure elements and familiarity with certificate-based VPN authentication are also necessary.
