Head of Networks – Global Legal & Professional Services Firm Location: Glasgow (UK-based) | Salary: £80,000 – £95,000 + Benefits A leading global professional services firm is seeking an experienced Network Manager to lead its network operations and infrastructure strategy. This role offers the opportunity to combine technical leadership with team management , driving both Business-as-Usual (BAU) performance and major infrastructure projects—including a key SD-WAN rollout. About the Role As Network Manager , you will act as both a technical authority and people leader for the network function. Reporting into the Global Infrastructure Lead , you\’ll be responsible for maintaining high availability, performance, and security of all network systems, while overseeing a skilled team of network engineers. You\’ll ensure service levels are met across the board, work closely with third-party providers, and play a key role in shaping the firm\’s evolving global network strategy . Key Responsibilities Serve as the technical lead for network infrastructure, ensuring a secure, scalable, and resilient environment. Manage and mentor a team of network engineers, supporting their development and daily operations. Oversee network performance, uptime, and incident response in line with SLAs and business requirements. Lead or contribute to major network projects, including an ongoing SD-WAN transformation . Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to optimize service delivery and network evolution. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and service quality. Maintain strong documentation, reporting, and compliance standards. Requirements Proven experience in network infrastructure management , ideally in a global or multi-site organization. Strong hands-on knowledge of Cisco , firewalls , LAN/WAN , Wi-Fi , load balancers , and cloud-connected environments. Experience delivering or managing SD-WAN implementations. Ability to balance BAU and project-based work in a fast-paced enterprise setting. Strong people leadership and team development skills. Vendor management and contract negotiation experience.
