Overview:
I am partnered with a leading media and outdoors organisation who are looking for an assistant project manager to join the team and work across their roadside estate. You will support the Project Manager and Project Engineer to deliver CAPEX projects on time and to budget.
Responsibilities:
- Help create and execute CAPEX project plans, schedules, and budgets. Monitor project milestones to ensure tasks are completed on time.
- Oversee project budgets, track expenditures, and assist with financial forecasting to keep costs within budget. Prepare cost reports for the Project Manager and management team.
- Organize and maintain project documents, such as contracts, permits, and regulatory paperwork, ensuring they meet industry standards and company policies.
- Serve as a liaison between internal teams and external contractors to promote collaboration throughout the project.
- Identify and report potential project risks or issues, and help develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards by coordinating inspections and reviewing sites and contractors as per project requirements.
- Create and present regular project status reports to stakeholders and senior management, highlighting progress and potential risks.
Must Haves:
- Over 2 years in project management or CAPEX project support, ideally in construction, engineering, or a related field.
- Successfully managed construction, installation, and commissioning projects, particularly on roadsides, highways, or railways.
- Skilled in managing contractors and suppliers, with experience in NEC3/4 or similar contract frameworks.
- Knowledgeable about CDM regulations 2015, with a proven track record of prioritizing safety in site management and audits.
- Strong understanding of project management practices, preferably with certification such as Prince2 or equivalent.
- Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experienced in supporting project cost control and budgeting.
