Principal Infrastructure Engineer | Nutanix, Virtualisation, Automation | Hybrid – London (3 days a week on-site) | Up to £114k DOE
We’re working with a fast-moving, tech-forward business that’s recently completed a major datacentre migration and is now optimising their core infrastructure. They’re after a Principal Infrastructure Engineer who’s as comfortable scripting against an API as they are deep-diving into Nutanix clusters.
We are looking for someone with an engineering mindset who thrives in hybrid, virtualised environments. Think Nutanix (AHV), distributed storage, and automation across compute, storage, and networking layers.
The Role:
-
Hands-on ownership of the Nutanix stack (migrated from VMware)
-
Troubleshoot and optimise infrastructure across virtualisation and storage
-
Automate everything – Terraform, PowerShell, Python, REST APIs (Nutanix CLI/API experience a big plus)
-
Work closely with architects and senior tech leads to define infra best practices
-
Opportunity to experiment with new tools/vendors – innovation encouraged
You’ll need:
-
Strong experience in infrastructure engineering (on-prem/hybrid)
-
Hands-on with Nutanix (or similar HCI) and virtualisation platforms (AHV, VMware ESXi, Hyper-V)
-
Solid understanding of storage, DR, clustering, etc.
-
Confident scripting and automating – PowerShell, Python, APIs
-
Comfortable owning technical solutions end-to-end
Why join?
-
Highly autonomous principal-level role
-
Exposure to a mix of cutting-edge infra and cloud
-
Fast-moving environment that genuinely encourages innovation
-
Collaborative culture with direct impact on customer-facing platforms
If you’re an infrastructure engineer who still loves getting hands-on, values technical depth, and enjoys shaping how things are done – this one’s worth a look.
