As a member of the European Private Debt team, you will be involved in assessing investment opportunities, structuring and executing transactions, and monitoring the team’s investments in Europe. We will consider Analyst to Associate profiles (as defined in the banking sector). The seniority of the role offered can be adjusted based on the successful candidate’s profile.
What You Will Do
- Perform the initial review and analysis of investment opportunities (industry research, analysis of business model, competitive positioning, business risk, leadership quality and strategy, etc.).
- Participate in the investment appraisal and due diligence process (assess merits and risks through detailed due diligence, meeting with management teams, reviewing third‑party reports, engaging with internal and external sector experts, etc.).
- Conduct financial analysis and detailed modelling.
- Prepare investment committee papers and contribute to Investment Committee discussions to secure transaction approvals.
- Monitor and report on the performance of existing portfolio investments.

What You Bring
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in finance, business administration, accounting or any related discipline.
- Two (2) to four (4) years of relevant experience in Private Debt investing or Investment Banking (Leveraged Finance). An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Excellent financial and credit analytical skills.
- Solid understanding of investment markets and credit instruments.
- Good knowledge of the software tools and databases used in financial markets (Microsoft Office, Bloomberg, Capital IQ).
- Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken.
About La Caisse’s Private Debt Team
The Private Debt strategy, part of the Corporate Credit portfolio (CA$ 35bn of AuM), was launched in 2017 to focus on direct lending across North America and Europe. With offices in Montreal, New York and London, the team provides tailor‑made financing solutions to companies and private equity sponsors across the full spectrum of the capital structure – from senior debt and unitranches to subordinated and PIK debt instruments. The European Private Debt team has already successfully invested c. €8bn in 45+ transactions since 2018. Currently comprised of 11 investment professionals based in London, the team is expanding to support continuous growth.
