We are looking for a Production Planner to join our team in Northampton, MA.

Essential Functions:

  • Work closely with production supervisors, Supply Chain, manufacturing and quality engineers to ensure schedules and priorities are being met.
  • Discuss and resolve medium to high complexity schedule issues.
  • Perform a variety of duties to release the work packets of various programs and projects according to the Division master schedule and program network plans.
  • Work from the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system, production schedules, job sequencing packets, established procedures and practices, and written or verbal instructions.
  • Work closely with Master Scheduling to facilitate the planning and execution of programs as outlined in the production schedules.
  • Ensure all ERP planning data is maintained on a regular basis (i.e. lead-times, lot sizes, inventory transfers, and policy codes).
  • Perform accurate and complete maintenance transactions into the ERP system for all purchasing and planning transactions.
  • Plan, coordinate and expedite detailed part schedules in compliance with the Master Schedule requirements or as otherwise directed.
  • Review and analyze material order requirements for respective programs and ensure timely order launch to meet production schedules.
  • Notify Supply Chain and supervisor of any critical items that require expediting.
  • Review all manufacturing orders for release, ensuring no hardware shortages exist.
  • Compile and complete job packets for release to the manufacturing floor which will contain all required documentation including drawings, parts lists, pick lists, operations sheets, assembly instructions and test methods.
  • Work closely with Supply Chain, Supplier Operations and Product Teams to status and expedite PO’s while maintaining effective communications regarding delivery status and procurement problems.
  • Communicate real or potential schedule delays pertaining to assigned program(s).
  • Understand the logic of the company Management Information System as it specifically pertains to ERP, order launching and program execution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
  • Must have advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Material Requirement (MRP) experience desired – SAP preferred.
  • Communicates with contacts typically within and outside the department on matters that involve obtaining or providing information requiring explanation or interpretation to understand and reach agreement.
  • Makes recommendations for solutions.
  • Work is structured within identified boundaries and procedures.
  • May work on assignments requiring judgment and initiative.
  • Uses knowledge and experience to resolve issues.
  • Works to achieve operational targets within job area which has impact on the overall achievement of results for the team.
  • Work is of larger scope, typically on less structured task-related activities requiring judgement.
  • Ability to obtain a US Secret Clearance which requires US Citizenship.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Massachusetts is $62,500- $116,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays.
