Job Description:

L3Harris is looking for a Lead, HR Business Partner to support client groups across a large portfolio within our Maritime sector. This is a strategic role responsible for aligning business objectives, driving HR programs and change management initiatives with employees and management. This strategic role serves as a trusted advisor and change agent, aligning HR initiatives with business objectives while championing employee needs and driving organizational effectiveness.

Based in Northampton, MA, you'll support geographically dispersed teams, requiring occasional travel (10-15%). This position demands broad HR expertise, exceptional project management capabilities, and the ability to influence across all organizational levels.

Essential Job Functions & Duties:

Strategic Partnership & Business Alignment

  • Align HR strategies with business objectives across L3Harris Space & Mission Systems
  • Ensure consistent, unbiased application of HR processes, initiatives, and programs
  • Develop integrated solutions that deliver measurable value to management and employees

Talent Management & Workforce Planning

  • Lead strategic workforce staffing, talent development, and retention initiatives
  • Partner with Operations leaders and Centers of Excellence (COEs) to build organizational capabilities
  • Support performance management processes that drive high performance and employee growth

Employee & Labor Relations

  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues with diplomacy and sound judgment
  • Serve as a trusted consultant to management on HR-related matters
  • Collaborate effectively with union leaders, employees, and management teams

Change Leadership & Communication

  • Drive organizational change initiatives and manage transitions effectively
  • Facilitate two-way communication across diverse stakeholder groups
  • Act as an employee champion while advancing business priorities

Analytics & Continuous Improvement

  • Leverage HR metrics and analytics to inform decision-making
  • Measure effectiveness of HR initiatives and recommend improvements
  • Collaborate with COEs to implement timely, impactful solutions

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Lead complex projects with general oversight, coordinating across functions
  • Partner with HR functional teams and COEs to deliver integrated programs
  • Promote a diverse, inclusive environment that maximizes organizational success

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Project Management experience with demonstrated success managing complex initiatives.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience in organizational design and development.
  • Background in manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or unionized environments
  • Professional HR certification (SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR)
  • Experience with HR analytics and data-driven decision making

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $115,000 - $196,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
