Canada’s premier aircraft support integrator. The successful candidate will join the MAS EHS team and be located in Mirabel, Quebec, supporting several operations across the country, and will join a network of L3Harris EHS professionals around the globe. The EHS Lead assists in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS programs to ensure compliance with all federal, provincial, local, and customer EHS requirements. The EHS Lead will support Mirabel’s EHS performance toward meeting their injury rate and environmental sustainability goals, as well as continuous improvement and validation of their EHS management system.
Essential Functions
- Participate actively with the organization’s leadership to drive all aspects of EHS performance, including injury reduction and avoidance, environmental sustainability initiatives, and meeting EHS regulatory and company requirements.
- Conduct workplace surveys, safety audits, risks assessments, etc. and advise management of conditions requiring corrective action and tracks resolutions to an effective closure.
- Drive continuous improvement of EHS programs in processes, systems, and products.
- Provide/support EHS briefings and training sessions to leadership and employees, as appropriate, to fulfill regulatory requirements and foster a safe working environment.
- Lead EHS committees and engage all employees to take ownership of EHS.
- Use problem solving skills and risk assessments during investigations into the root cause of injuries, events, or near misses.
- Ensure appropriate actions are taken to correct and prevent recurrence of unsafe conditions and/or behaviours.
- Support pollution prevention and sustainability project identification and execution.
- Use common EHS tools and platforms (Gensuite) to meet corporate reporting requirements and enhance employee engagement and commitment.
- Maintain records and ensure that all applicable internal and external reporting requirements are performed accurately and in a timely manner; Maintain required site permits and licenses; Establish and maintain necessary contacts with site, local, provincial, federal regulatory agencies.
- Flexible to support off-shift or weekend activities and response measures, and able to travel up to 25% as needed; Performs related duties or special projects as directed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 9 years of prior related experience, or a graduate degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
- Serve as an effective change agent to make significant improvements in policies, practices, or approaches.
- Strong technical understanding of environmental and occupational health and safety regulations and practices.
- Practical experience developing, training, and implementing EHS programs and trainings.
- Ability to research technical information as required.
- Ability to manage time and projects across multiple sites or programs.
- Demonstrated ability to work under general, consultative direction and manage programs independently.
- Experience managing a budget with vendors and consultants for EHS compliance.
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal, presentation).
- Competent computer skills related to Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Bilingual (French written and spoken). Proficiency in English, in addition to the French language, is necessary due to contractual requirements.

- EHS-related professional accreditations; ISO 14001:2015 and 45001:2018 experience.
- Strong root cause analysis skills.
- Experience using and leveraging EHS common tools and systems, such as Gensuite.
- Strong teamwork, interpersonal, problem-solving, and analysis skills.
- Exhibits sound judgment and professionalism in all situations.
- Self-directed, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and assess priorities effectively.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance.
- Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
