We are seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to support and continuously develop the company’s business management system, ensuring conformance with ISO9001:2015, TickITplus, and internal requirements in collaboration with the Quality and EHS team. The role partners closely with Operations to support planning, process implementation and improvement, whilst also leading investigations to resolve quality issues and improve customer satisfaction. You will liaise with customers, suppliers and sub‑contractors on quality matters and perform internal audits and assessments across the Business Management System to improve performance across the business.
What the role will involve:
- Supporting and developing the business’ management systems.
- Supporting the Senior Quality, EHS and Facilities Manager to ensure conformance to ISO9001:2015, TickITplus and business requirements.
- Supporting the operations team, including: planning, review of shop floor data, assurance of implementation of manufacturing processes, audit, investigation and resolution of quality problems, quality/process improvement.
- Liaising with suppliers and sub‑contractors on quality matters, including investigation and resolution of supplier related problems and quality/process improvements.
- Audit of suppliers and sub‑contractors, and assessment of potential new suppliers.
- Performing internal audits across the Business Management System.
- Coordinating and reporting on continual improvement programmes within the business.
What you’ll bring:
- HND/ Degree level qualification in an engineering or business discipline.
- At least 5 years’ experience in a technical role in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- A good working knowledge of manufacture and test in a high‑tech environment.
- Ability to work closely with a wide range of personnel throughout the organisation, suppliers and customers.
- Good analytical, critical thinking and problem‑solving skills and the ability to conduct root cause analyses and devise suitable corrective action plans.
- Understanding of continuous improvement / lean principles and tools.
- Experience using a wide range of root cause analysis tools.
