Job Description
The Lead, Systems Engineer– Requirements SME will lead the Requirements efforts for the SE team, including requirements development, derivation, and allocation, establishing linkages, selection of verification method(s), specification generation, interface diagram generation, requirements management / change control, and requirements baseline creation/management for integration of complex and specialized HW and SW systems onto an airborne platform.
Essential Functions
- Work collaboratively with the Integrated Product Team Leads (IPTLs) to ensure that the Customer requirements are understood, well-written, verifiable, and agreed upon.
- Generate a Specification Tree with the IPTLs.
- Translate the Customer requirements into unique, verifiable system-level requirements.
- Generate specifications at all necessary levels through derivation and allocation of system requirements, including ICDs and any necessary Supplier/Subcontract specifications.
- Establish linkages and establish and populate attributes (including verification method(s)) for all requirements.
- Define and establish requirements baselines and release specifications through formal CM/document release process.
- Support the technical solution development and ensure the as-built product meets the requirements baseline.
- Review the technical data package (electrical wiring diagrams, mechanical integration drawings, analysis reports, etc.), ensuring that the design details trace to system requirements.
- Create SRR slide deck, document Customer inputs/outputs of SRR as well as Entrance and Exit criteria.
- Prepare and deliver formal and informal presentations to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical colleagues and Customers.
- Must have the ability to travel CONUS as needed based on business demands (up to 15%).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or STEM and a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant Systems Engineering experience, or Graduate Degree in Engineering or STEM and a minimum of 7 years of prior relevant Systems Engineering experience.
- Must possess a strong avionics background.
- Must have in-depth knowledge and experience performing requirements development, derivation, and allocation, linking, specification generation, interface diagram generation, requirements management / change control, and baseline creation/management.
- Must have in-depth knowledge and experience with the Systems Engineering V model and the implementation of Systems Engineering principles and processes, including supporting SE events: SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, FCA/PCA.
- Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a U. S. Do D security clearance at the TS/SCI level.
