Overview
In this role you will design, develop and integrate software for maritime control systems, enabling autonomous vessel capabilities. You will work with cross-disciplinary teams across the project lifecycle, from concept to fielded deployments, including trials and customer support. You will tackle complex technical challenges in a fast-evolving maritime domain, contributing to autonomous navigation and shipboard software integration. This position offers the opportunity to impact both naval and commercial maritime operations at scale.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, integrate and maintain software for industrial control and maritime systems
- Create and support interfaces between PLCs, power management, communications, and higher-level software
- Perform software integration, verification, validation, troubleshooting and testing across the lifecycle
- Support lab integration, factory acceptance testing, harbour and sea trials, commissioning and customer acceptance
- Collaborate with software, systems, hardware, electrical and test engineers to deliver integrated solutions
- Contribute to IRAD initiatives, technology demonstrations and BID activities via prototyping and PoCs
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, integration procedures, test specs and records
- Investigate and resolve software, interface and system-level issues
- Support continuous improvement of software integration processes and engineering practices
- Travel to customer and company sites for integration, testing, commissioning and acceptance (approx. 5% travel)
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
- Experience developing and maintaining software using C++
- Experience in Linux-based development and deployment
- Experience integrating software with industrial control systems or PLCs
- Experience supporting software testing, verification, validation and troubleshooting
- Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering teams across the software lifecycle
