The Test Technician is responsible for conducting a range of tests in accordance with approved test specifications and procedures. The role requires the ability to read, understand, and accurately follow technical documentation while always maintaining strict adherence to health and safety requirements. The technician will support the test department in the efficient planning and completion of test campaigns, contributing to on-time delivery and continuous improvement. Accurate preparation, completion, and maintenance of test records and documentation form a key part of the role.

The responsibilities of your role will include the following:

  • Preparation and assembly of test rigs and fixtures.
  • Fitment and verification of test measurement instrumentation.
  • Operation of dedicated test facilities to conduct product development and production acceptance tests to defined test procedures including: Weapon Release / Climatic / Pressure / Structural / Vibration
  • Liaison with test engineering, design, and manufacturing departments
  • Recording test results and product handling using logbook system
  • Understanding safety in the workplace at all times.
  • Predominantly onsite at Brighton, with a flexible approach to work to meet project demands.

The role requires the following experience and skills:

  • Previous test experience
  • Mechanical skills / knowledge
  • Computer literacy
  • Fundamental knowledge of electrical systems & ability to understand simple wiring diagrams
  • Experience of electro-mechanical systems
  • Experience working with high pressure air systems
  • Experience in creation of Risk Assessments
  • Ability to analyse test results and draw conclusions
  • Ability to work independently or as a team to meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement to improve the efficiency of the testing service
