Overview

In this role you will support cost inputs, budgeting, and project financial control for aerospace programs in the UK.

You will own the Basis of Estimate tool, develop cost data, and present financials to senior management.

You will collaborate with engineering, operations, and programme teams to drive accurate reporting and risk-aware decision making.

Responsibilities

  • Capture cost inputs from multiple functions and ensure accuracy in the Basis of Estimate tool
  • Maintain and develop the Basis of Estimate tool
  • Attend cost and price reviews and present financial data to senior management
  • Define and review labour and material rate structures, overhead analysis, and project-level application
  • Manage project planning, work package control, and monthly cost analysis
  • Prepare and analyze monthly project financial reports and support senior stakeholders
  • Ensure consistent project reporting and data collection across projects
  • Support budgets and forecasts preparation and submission
  • Contribute to risk identification, registers, and mitigation activities
  • Support internal, external, and customer financial audits and provide team coverage
  • Key requirements
  • Degree-qualified in a related discipline, plus at least 2 years in a similar finance/programme finance/ project accounting role
  • Solid knowledge of financial accounting principles and project financial management (budgeting, forecasting, revenue, profitability, cash flow)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with data-driven insights
  • Advanced Excel skills for financial reporting and analysis
  • Stakeholder management across functions (programme, engineering, operations, leadership)
  • Well-organised, detail-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated, proactive, ownership mindset and continuous process improvement
  • Strong verbal and written communication to diverse stakeholders
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) or project controls in defence/aerospace is advantageous
