Our mission‑critical release systems equipment is on most major airborne fighter platforms worldwide, including the F‑35, along with other aircraft like the Gripen and Typhoon. Brighton designs, manufactures and tests a large portion of its release systems portfolio. This facility offers 48,500 square feet of manufacturing space for the development of high‑performance, multi‑station solutions used to launch air‑to‑air and air‑to‑ground munitions from bay, wing or fuselage stations.

What The Role Will Involve:
- Contribute to the development of mechanical design solutions from concept through detail design under the guidance of senior or lead engineers.
- Produce 3D CAD models, assemblies, and engineering drawings using SolidWorks in support of engineering design activities.
- Assist in translating engineering requirements and specifications into compliant design solutions.
- Perform basic mechanical engineering calculations and analyses to support design decisions, with review by senior engineers.
- Support design trade studies and feasibility assessments within defined schedule and cost constraints.
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, including design descriptions, specifications, reports, and presentations.
- Support configuration management activities, including drawing issue, revision control, and implementation of approved design changes.
- Provide engineering input to Manufacturing Engineering, supporting producibility, assembly, and inspection considerations.
- Liaise with cross‑functional teams to support resolution of design and production queries.
- Participate in design reviews, investigations, and problem‑solving activities, escalating technical issues appropriately.
- Manage assigned tasks to meet agreed milestones, with support from project and functional leads.
- Work in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements, including ISO 9001 and AS9100.
- Support internal, customer and supplier technical meetings as appropriate to role and experience level.
What You’ll Bring:
- The candidate should be a motivated junior engineer with a structured and analytical approach to problem‑solving.
- The individual should demonstrate curiosity, a willingness to learn, and the ability to apply engineering fundamentals in a practical design environment.
- Able to work effectively within a team while developing increasing levels of technical independence.
Qualifications:
- BEng, BSc, MSc, MEng in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering or in lieu of a degree, minimum of 4 years of prior related experience with HND/HNC in applicable subject.
- Exposure to mechanical design, CAD modelling, or engineering analysis through academic projects, placements, early‑career roles or active experience within another relevant role.
- Basic Mechanical Engineering Calculations.
- Basic Understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes utilised in Aerospace.
- Ability to resolve challenges with moderate supervision or guidance.
- Ability to work to deadlines, prioritise workload appropriately in conjunction with Project Management.
- Perform work accurately with moderate supervision with a methodical approach to their work.
- Basic understanding of design requirements to ensure designs meet contracted specifications.
