Our Brighton business is moving to a new location in 2027 with potential sites in Shoreham, Burgess Hill or Horsham, within a 15-minute drive of the current site. In Brighton, we are part of the Release Systems & Antennas division within the Aerospace domain. We design, manufacture and test much of our release systems portfolio in our Brighton facility, with 48,500 square feet of manufacturing space. Our mission-critical release systems equipment is used on major airborne fighter platforms worldwide, including the F-35, as well as the Gripen and Typhoon.

Responsibilities

  • The role involves planning and conducting verification and validation tests in accordance with approved aerospace standards, test specifications and procedures.
  • Key activities include interpreting engineering requirements, developing test plans, and executing test campaigns while complying with regulatory, quality, and health and safety requirements.
  • The Test Engineer supports the efficient delivery of test programmes through coordination with engineering, quality and programme teams, ensuring schedules and technical objectives are met.
  • A core responsibility is analysing test data and producing clear, accurate test reports that communicate results, compliance status and technical conclusions to support certification and continuous improvement.
  • Preparation of test schedules and programmes.
  • Conducting and overseeing test campaigns and data collection.
  • Liaison with test engineering, design, and manufacturing departments.
  • Operation of dedicated test facilities to conduct product development and production acceptance tests to defined test procedures including: Weapon Release, Climatic, Pressure, Structural, Vibration.
  • Recording test results and interpreting data for investigation and implementation of solutions to products, processes or test problems.
  • Understanding safety in the workplace at all times.
  • Fitment and verification of test measurement instrumentation.
  • Predominantly onsite at Brighton with a flexible approach to meet project demands.

Qualifications

  • Relevant College or University qualification or suitable apprenticeship with previous relevant experience.
  • Understanding of the principles of testing.
  • Proven knowledge of mechanical assembly.
  • Proven practical skills and use of hand tools.
  • Methods of assembly and selection of fixings.
  • Ability to consistently follow operational instructions.
  • Ability to learn product knowledge and apply troubleshooting through critical thinking.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • A drive to achieve delivery right first time, on time and to budget.
  • Motivation and enthusiasm, with a willingness to learn.
