We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join our client’s operational leadership team based in the East Midlands. The successful candidate will oversee the delivery of multiple civil engineering and pipeline projects nationwide, managing Project Managers, Site Managers, subcontractors, and operational teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires a commercially aware and operationally strong leader with proven experience within the Oil & Gas, Utilities, Pipelines, or Civil Engineering sectors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing multiple nationwide civil engineering and pipeline projects
- Leading and supporting Project Managers and operational teams
- Full commercial responsibility including budgets, profit & loss, and risk management
- Ensuring Health & Safety standards are maintained at the highest level
- Managing NEC3 / NEC4 contracts and contractual compliance
- Working closely with procurement and supply chain teams
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Driving programme delivery, quality, and operational performance
- Supporting the successful delivery of projects within gas networks, utilities, oil & gas, and chemical industries
Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within Civil Engineering, Utilities, Pipelines, or Oil & Gas
- Strong leadership and people management experience
- Extensive commercial and operational management knowledge
- Experience delivering large-scale infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of NEC3 / NEC4 contracts
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and operational teams simultaneously
- Strong understanding of health, safety, quality, and compliance standards
- A proactive and hands-on management approach
- Full UK driving licence
