Based in Minworth, Birmingham, we are a fast growing kitchen appliance distributor. Established in 1944, we supply and install kitchen appliances to all of the major housebuilders. In recent years we have experienced consistent year on year growth leading to an increase in job opportunity.

About The Role

An exciting new position has arisen for a White Goods Installer to join our growing team; based in Birmingham.

Specific Duties

  • Initial training salary from £35,000+, once training is completed the salary will increase to up to £60,000 based on piece work.
  • Collection and loading of appliances on vehicles from local depot in Birmingham.
  • Driving to new build properties around the UK, predominantly in the Midlands.
  • Loading out appliances into houses and apartment blocks (with the use of battery powered stair climber, or use of site hoist/lift if available).
  • Unpacking and installing appliances, including levelling and securing in place (e.g. Ovens, hobs, chimney hoods, dishwashers etc).
  • Connecting “wet” appliances to existing water/waste connection points.
  • Connection via plug tops to appliances under 3kw power rating unless MI’s state differently.
  • Connecting cable/flex to appliances in excess of 3kw and connecting to existing electrical outlet hard wire points.
  • Fitting of decor door frontages.
  • Wooden worktop cut outs to facilitate fitting of gas & electric hobs.
  • Cutting/trimming plinths and shelves, holes for routing pipes/cables.
  • Upon completion of work, all plots are left clean and tidy and all packaging waste is removed from the plot and returned to depot for recycling.
  • Follow company and customer policies and procedures.
  • Complete all aspects of role related admin, including completion of paperwork for sign off by site management.
  • Continually ensuring health and safety policies are adhered to.
  • Resolve customer issues which may be experienced during a fit both pro-actively & re-actively in a timely manner.

Skill Requirements

  • Beneficial: Basic Electrical, Basic Plumbing, Experience working in the new home building sector.
  • Required: Full driving license, CSCS card, Gas safe registered (CCN1 and CKR1) - for the right candidate we will consider someone non gas qualified.
  • Able to converse with customers, site teams and internal installation teams.
  • Methodical, logical, self-motivated & organised.
  • Ability to demonstrate a commitment to Right First Time and continuous improvement.
  • Experience working within a regulated environment.
  • Confident to make decisions based on a sound knowledge of Health and Safety procedures.
  • Comfortable working with hand tools (drill/jigsaw).
  • Confident and productive when working alone.

Provided training (if required):

  • SSSTS Card.
  • Gas safe registered (CCN1 and CKR1) - for the right candidate we will consider someone non gas qualified.
