We are hiring a People & Culture Coordinator with a focus on Employee Relations based in Hemel Hempstead. This is a full-time, office-based role.

We are looking for a People & Culture Coordinator to join our team and play a key role in delivering an exceptional people experience across our labour workforce. This role is ideal for an organised, people-focused HR professional with knowledge of employee relations, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.

What you will do:

  • Oversee full-cycle onboarding and offboarding, with a strong focus on supporting the labour agency workforce and delivering a seamless new-starter experience.
  • Draft and issue offer letters, contracts of employment, and contracts for services, ensuring the correct application of contract types.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, including HR system set-ups, changes, and leavers.
  • Partner closely with Payroll to provide timely and accurate data for starters, leavers, changes, bonuses, and benefits.
  • Track probation periods, contract durations, assignment schedules, and contractual changes.
  • Ensure Right to Work checks are completed accurately and recorded in line with compliance requirements.
  • Act as the first point of contact for People & Culture queries and support requests.
  • Provide HR advice and guidance to managers and employees on first- and second-line employee relations matters, including sickness, performance management, disciplinaries, and grievances.
  • Conduct and support thorough, objective investigations, escalating complex employee relations matters where required.
  • Coordinate inductions, People & Culture introductions, and HR system training for new joiners.
  • Support recruitment processes, including liaising with partner agencies when required.
  • Lead on offboarding processes and exit interviews, sharing insights with the People & Culture Manager.
  • Support recognition initiatives, anniversaries, and wider People & Culture communications.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc People & Culture projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

What we are looking for:

  • An experienced HR professional who brings energy, confidence, and a passion for people.
  • CIPD Level 3 Certificate or a degree in a HR-related field (essential).
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • Experience providing first- and second-line employee relations support.
  • High-level proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Working knowledge of UK-GDPR, Right to Work legislation, and Working Rule Agreements (WRA).
  • Experience working with labour agencies (advantageous).
  • Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
  • A confident and discreet communicator, comfortable handling sensitive matters.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities under pressure.
