We are looking for a reliable, proactive cleaner to join a friendly cleaning team in a school in the Rushbottom Lane area in Benfleet, Essex. This is a temporary position to cover maternity leave. Please check that the location and the hours are suitable before you apply.
Location: Rushbottom Lane, Benfleet, Essex
Hours: Monday to Friday 6:00am to 8:30am
Pay: £12.71 p/h + holiday pay
Hours per year: 39 weeks per year + 4 weeks deep cleaning during school holidays
The successful candidates will be someone who can take direction well and will be able to implement cleaning policies and procedures with minimal supervision. You will be responsible for cleaning of office and admin areas within the school, classrooms, toilets, and communal areas. Duties to include emptying of bins, polishing, mopping floors, hoovering, cleaning tables and chairs, toilet cleaning and any other associated duties as required.
Prior experience as a cleaner is an advantage, but not necessary. We are really looking for someone who is reliable, has a good attitude to work, whilst having fun at the same time and willing to learn as they go along, also someone who has good attention to detail and takes pride in their work!
Responsibilities:
- Understand basic hygiene and sanitation requirements for cleaning specific areas.
- Carry out cleaning duties thoroughly and with care.
- General WCs, offices, bins.
- General cleaning tasks, up to required standards.
- Good communication skills are essential for health and safety reasons.
Full training in all aspects of cleaning will be given, and uniform provided.
Qualifications:
- Reliability, good attitude towards work.
- Willingness to learn on the job.
- Attention to detail and pride in work.
- Prior experience as a cleaner is an advantage, but not required.
The successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check, the expense of which will be part shared by the employer.
